P!NK to rock the stage at the 2008 ARIA Awards 29.08.08

With tendays to go before the Final Five nominees are announced along with this year's exciting crop of Australian performers, and seven weeks until the 2008 ARIA Awards, ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) is pleased to announce that P!nk is confirmed to perform her new single So What live on stage at the 2008 ARIA Awards, proudly presented by Motorola, on Sunday, 19 October, 2008 at Acer Arena, Sydney Olympic Park.

Since her debut in 2000, P!nk has been widely hailed as a fearlessly talented artist and her genre-defying creative risk-taking has propelled her to global stardom and made her Australia's biggest selling international recording artist of 2006/7 with the 10 x platinum selling album, I'm Not Dead. In addition to her album sales success, the I'm Not Dead 2007 Australian tour sold over 300,000 tickets and made P!nk the biggest-selling female touring artist in Australian history. Her new single, So What, debuted at No. 4 on the Motorola ARIA Chart this week.

The final five nominees across 28 ARIA Award categories will be announced at a special industry function at CarriageWorks in Sydney on Wednesday, 10 September. The ARIA Awards Nominations Event will also feature the presentation of this year's ARIA Artisan Awards for Producer of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Best Cover Art and Best Video. Also, in keeping with tradition, the ARIA Nominations Event will feature the announcement of performances and host of the 2008 ARIA Awards. General public tickets (all ages) will go on sale Wednesday, 10 September at 12.00 noon from Ticketek.

The 2008 ARIA Awards, proudly brought to you by Motorola, will take place on Sunday, 19 October at Acer Arena, Sydney Olympic Park. The ARIA Awards recognise excellence and innovation in all genres of Australian music and this year will be no exception. The event, which will see the unveiling of the remaining 20 category winners, will be exclusively telecast by official broadcast partner Network Ten from 7.30pm.
