Access All ARIAs 2020: Alex The Astronaut, Lime Cordiale And Mallrat

We met with some of the Breakthrough Artist nominees; Alex the Astronaut, Lime Cordiale and Mallrat, to talk about their careers so far and their creative processes over this past year.

Mallrat and Lime Cordiale appreciated that Breakthrough Artist recognises that they have been working for years on their careers  and building their audiences, and this award reflects an introduction to the mainstream Australian music scene.

Lime Cordiale mentioned that a silver lining of live gigs being cancelled, is the attention that Australian artists have gotten and the appreciation for local talent, especially Breakthrough Artists.

Alex the Astronaut discussed how lockdown has forced her to look inwards when it comes to her song writing, stating how much her song writing has changed. Whereas Mallrat has taken on more of a passion for producing and being able to make a whole song by herself.

On ARIAs night the panel all plan to celebrate the night in their own COVID-safe ways, maybe even with their own red carpets.
