The Dolla hits a new high

Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) holds at #1 for the 14th non-consecutive week on the ARIA Albums Chart, tying with Midnights as her longest-running #1 album; while Dom Dolla hits a new Singles Chart peak.

New at #35 is Prelude To Ecstasy, the debut album from British band The Last Dinner Party.

The London-based five-piece, who are on track to land at #1 on the UK albums chart, won this year’s BRITS Rising Star Award and the BBC Sound of… 2024 poll. 

On the Singles Chart, Dom Dolla’s Saving Up rises from #11 to #10, marking his first time in the top 10, while Australian duo Royel Otis’ Like A Version cover of Murder On The Dancefloor flies from #71 to #35. It’s their first charted single. Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s 2001 original sits at #8 thanks to its star turn in Saltburn.

Dom Dolla and Royel Otis are two of the nine Australian artists on the top 100 singles chart this week. The others are Troye Sivan, Vance Joy, Ocean Alley, FISHER with Kita Alexander and Flume with Kai. In total, they have 10 tracks in the top 100 (Dom and Troye have two each).

At the top of the Singles Chart, it’s a second week at #1 for Noah Kahan’s Stick Season. Benson Boone bounces into the top five at #3 with Beautiful Things, up from #9 last week. Until now, his best showing was Into The Stars, which rose to #34 in 2022.
